Character: Heather Mason
Canon: Silent Hill 3
Version: Original Silent Hill 3 (Not HD Collection >:I)
Canon Point: Right after she defeated “God”. Once she exited the final boss arena, she somehow ended up in this place (So, no. She didn’t get back to Douglas and she might be a bit roughed up from the fight).
Age: 17
Gender: Female
History: http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Heather_Mason

Personality:
Heather is just your average girl… Well, almost.

She is the kind of girl who really enjoys the simple things in life. Long walks on beaches, strawberries, and peaches… Those sorts of things. And being out anywhere is better than being confined to one place. Seriously. The girl’s gotta get out! Whether it’s shopping, eating fast food, hanging out at the park, going for a walk around town, ANYTHING. It’s not that she doesn’t like being home, though. But there’s more to life than just sitting around and doing nothing.

But when getting to know Heather, you might notice that she’s got a bit of a bite to her. She might usually be sweet to people she’s really close to but oh man, watch out. She can be pretty judgmental and wary of new people that she meets, depending on your first impression. And even then, there is not guarantee that she will be all that nice to you. She’s got some gnarly habits of being rude or just flat out cold to people she doesn’t have an emotional attachment to. But, if you happen to strike lucky and get to know her, she’s actually quite a sweet girl. She is quite spunky and loves a good joke. Though the definition of “good joke” in her book can be anywhere between corny to morbid as Hell. She’s aware that she’s got some bad tastes but she doesn’t care. SHE’LL LAUGH AT WHAT SHE WANTS.

Gaining her trust is a pretty big deal. And if you happen to gain it, then you will be able to depend on her for just about anything. She is a very loyal person. You can count on her and she will become very attached to you. She is a “friend for life” sort of friend (unless you really fuck it up). SO BECOME BFFLS WITH HER.

Heather has a childish personality. She likes a lot of things that kids do. Playing with the other kids (though those kids might have to come to her than her going to them), trinkets, toys, TV shows, and so on. She’s a girl who just wants to have fun! But if there’s one thing that can make her even more childish, it’s her temper.

Even if you’re close to her, you have to watch your step. She’s got a short fuse and doesn’t tolerate much crap from anyone. And the fuse is shorter if she doesn’t know you or if you say anything bad about her father. Her temper is just something that you don’t want her to lose. If something goes wrong or doesn’t go according to plan, she can get frustrated and lash out, depending on the situation. She’s the best example of a hot head there is and it doesn’t take much to get on her last nerve.

Now, while most of this is considered normal for a teenager to act, there is a darker side to Heather… One might even say that her childishness is a ruse… Under that rough exterior is a very scared and troubled girl. Deep down, she is actually quite self conscience and has a low self esteem, which causes her to be unable to see her self image in a positive light. This could be due to the abuse Alessa had received from her class mates and mother, Dahlia. Which is also a possible root as to why she doesn’t trust most people (more specifically, adults). But there’s something that goes even deeper than that. And is a much darker quality…

Because of the intentions of her being a “god”, at the very foundation of her unconscious is a little voice. And this little voice affects her judgment. This is a mechanism that causes her to decide that she can be worthy of deciding if someone is a human being or not. If she sees you as a monster, she can easily decide that she has a right to end your life. More often than not, these feelings are justified. However, that puts her on the edge of a knife and her anger could easily drown out her common sense and humanity.

… I guess that doesn’t make her that average BUT WHATEVER.

Fears:
FIRE: Heather’s had some… Nasty experiences with fire. Perhaps not so much in her current lifetime, but the fear was carried on from her past. Alessa, her original self, was severely burned from a boiler explosion and suffered from her injuries for 7 long years, on top of having birthing pains from being unable to deliver a “god” that a cult (The Order) worshipped. She’s extremely cautious around it and does her best to keep her distance. Or if it’s out of control, she’ll be the first to hot-foot it out of there. She won’t make attempts to stop it, just get the hell out of it’s way.

DOGS: She has a strong dislike for dogs, something that has also carried on from Alessa. Though her feelings for dogs were not helped when she had to deal with Double Heads so she’s come to loathe/ get uncomfortable with them. And it doesn’t matter if they’re big or small. She just. Doesn’t. Like. Them.

MIRRORS: Heather’s got a mild case of eisoptrophobia, a fear of mirrors. She gets the unsettling feeling like her reflection is an imposter, someone who isn’t really her. She gets sick just by thinking about it. If it can be helped, she will cover the mirror. These fears were reinforced when she walked into the Storeroom of the hospital on the 3rd floor where she was trapped and forced to look at a large mirror. And if that wasn’t bad enough, whatever was happening in the reflection ended up seeping into the real world, covering the room and her reflection with bloody tendrils.

LOSING THOSE NEAR HER: Heather has already lost the most important person in her life. She doesn’t want anything like that to ever happen again. She becomes very attached to her friends and losing any of them is EXTREMELY devastating.

THE UNKNOWN: Heather has a deep fear of this. If there’s anything that Heather is super paranoid of, it’s big gaping holes and dark, murky water. More often than not, Heather will not jump down holes or go across any bridges if she can’t see the bottom. Who knows what’s down there! It could KILL her!

INSECTS: Ew. That shit’s nasty. She can tolerate a couple small insects but anything like a swarm or anything bigger than a house fly kinda freaks her out. This fear isn’t that prominent but it’s there.

SEX: Heather has a fear of being sexually assaulted. Like, deeply. If she thinks you’re a creeper, she’ll try to avoid you at ALL costs.

LOSING HERSELF: Heather doesn’t want to find herself being anyone else but herself. She doesn’t want to be Alessa, the late Cheryl, and, most importantly, she doesn’t be “god”. She had almost lost herself once. Don’t need that happening ever again.

BEING TRULY ALONE: With her father, the only person she ever loved, gone, she has no-one else to go to. Sure, there’s Douglas. But in this new hell hole, he’s not here. She doesn’t know anyone else who she doesn’t hate or isn’t dead. And that makes her alone, which she DESPISES. Even the ghosts that lingered and stalked her during her journey was strangely comforting... Well, almost. Being truly alone is a horrifying experience for Heather and she’d rather avoid it.

LOSING HER HUMANITY: When it comes to killing monsters, Heather has no problem with it. But when it comes to killing human beings, she just can’t fathom it…. She just won’t do it. … Or would she?

Weakness:
HER TEMPER: Getting her frustrated and angry can easily cloud her judgment and this can steer people away from her (she's moody as hell so this is easy to accomplish). If they want to help her and she won’t let them, it can be a problem.

FUCK YOU I DO WHAT I WANT: Heather has a bad habit of dismissing authorities and adults. This can make her seem bratty and undesirable to be around.

STAMINA: Heather can be a pretty fast runner at first but her stamina is pretty short. She can’t go for long distances for too long before she begins to get tired. She’s much better with a short sprint. Unless she takes an ampoule. That’s a whole other ball game.

HEALTH: Pff, Heather’s health is pretty wimpy. She can’t take too many hits before she goes down. If Heather falls down due to an attack, it can take her a long time to recover and get back up onto her feet. Also known as the “Life-Suck-O-Meter”; Heather sometimes just has to lie there and contemplate how much her life sucks for a moment.

STRENGTH: Unfortunately, Heather can’t really do heavy lifting on her own. She doesn’t have the most sturdy upper arm strength. This can also affect her use of heavy weapons.

SLIGHT DERP WITH CHEMICALS: Most of the time she can be pretty sensible, especially with puzzles and riddles. But she has had a case where she’s held her head over a bucket while she mixed deadly chemicals. SHE IS THE BEST SCIENTIST.

CLUMBSY: Heather can trip and runs into walls when she’s running, especially if she’s going full speed. If she is on the edge of a hole, it is possible for her to lose her balance and fall. She has a hard time knowing how to throw her weight around sometimes and that can handicap her while she’s using weapons as well.

INEXPERIENCED WITH WEAPONS: Heather may have used weapons during her misadventure, but she still doesn’t know how to weld some them all that well. She’s pretty good with lighter melee weapons and small guns, but with any sort of heavy, blunt object or a shotgun, she’s gonna need some time to wind up or recover from the kickback. And sometimes, her aim is pretty /shotty/. –rimshot-

TRUST: If Heather trusts you, it’s easier to take advantage of her because she is willing to do mostly anything for you. But this trust is difficult to obtain, so it’s a weakness that’s rarely/never exploited.

Mundane Strengths/Abilities:
I’VE SEEN WORSE: It takes A LOT to phase Heather. Even with her experiences with Silent Hill, she was quickly able to adapt to her surroundings and didn’t let most of the disturbing things that happened get to her head. If she actually does find something weird her or freaks her out, having prolonged exposure to it will eventually numb her to it and might start to make light of the situation.

HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE: Heather’s got a pain tolerance that goes unmatched. She can handle HORRIFIC amounts of pain. This is due to the fact that in her current and past lives, she was able to survive and handle pains no normal person could live from.

PACKRAT: Heather can hoard large amounts of things in her vest. Be it weapons, health drinks, outfits, WHATEVER THE GIRL NEEDS.

BRAVERY AND DETERMINATION: If she needs something, Heather will do whatever it takes to get it. Be it an important item or revenge, she will take on whatever challenge comes her way. And she will not tolerate anyone or anything that gets in her way. She is able to stand her ground VERY well, even if she is scared.

SMALL/LIGHT WEAPONS: These are the things she can use the best.
RUNNING FROM SHIT: She is PRO at running away from danger, even if she can’t go super fast for long distances. She’ll just keep on running till the danger falls behind.

SMARTYPANTS: Heather’s really fucking good at puzzles. Especially if they have to deal with Shakespeare. She will BEAST riddles, poems, and clues… With TIME, of course. She will need time to think. She is also good at problem solving in general, using things around her to aid her, even if her resources are limited.

AGILITY: Due to the fact that she is short and quick on her feet, Heather is agile and good at ducking away from attacks. Though, this is a limited strength. She can’t evade by doing back flips or anything like that.

EXCEEDING EXHAUSTION: Even if Heather is exhausted, she’ll keep on going. She didn’t sleep through the events of the game. She just kept going till the job was done.

Sensitivity/Magical Ability:
Once upon a time, she, as Alessa, had psychic powers. But now that she has been reincarnated, she no longer has those abilities… Or so it seems. These abilities are locked away in the back of Heather’s mind. Should worse come to worse, these abilities could be awoken. However, it would prove to be a bad thing for everyone if it were to happen as it would wake up the “god” she was meant to be. And to put it lightly, this “god” isn’t very nice. But who would ever want to do such a thing?
In other words, under the most drastic of circumstances, Alessa’s powers could return. But it’s HIGHLY unlikely. Almost impossible. But if it ever has a possibility of happening, I will discuss it with the mods to get it all figured out/see if it’s in the clear to happen.

Supply List:

Heather’s inventory is, in game, quite large. However, for this, it will be cut down. She’s probably got her rusty-trusty steel pipe and her handy-dandy pistol (along with a little ammo) which was left over from her fight she had with “God”.

Sample RP post:
“Mrff…”

One eye opened just a sliver, taking a peek at the surroundings. But they couldn’t see much. Not… From down here. A young girl known as Heather Mason slowly began to realize that she was lying down in an unknown area. But not in any normal lying position. Her face was smooshed against a musty old floor, back arched up as her legs curled underneath her… Graceful… Where was she, anyway? Well, it’s dark and your flashlight is useless when it’s under you, stupid.

“… Hrmmm…” A light moan emitted from her throat in frustration as she moved her arms, motioning to prop herself up. She had to fight her body a bit, though. She felt really sore and cringed while she moved. The girl turned her head downward as she prepared herself to lift, using her forehead to help push her up. Slowly and carefully, she used whatever arm strength she had and moved her upper torso to an upward angle, light flooding out from under her and cutting through the darkness as she rose, sitting on her legs. Oh man, what a headache… The girl placed a hand on her head as she looked around, squinting as her eyes adjusted to t brightness coming from her chest pocket… Were… Those flowers?

Heather took her hand off of her head and turned her body to get a good look at where she was. It was some kind of entry way, from the look of it. And it was wonderfully decorated, kind of a nice change in scenery for the young girl. Since, you know, she went through Hell and stuff. But how did she wind up in this place? She tried to recall the last thing she could remember… Well… She killed that demon bitch, that was for sure. Let’s see… She cried a bit for Dad… Stop it. Keep it together, Heather. You need to figure out how you got here. What else do you remember? Uh… Darkness. She had left the arena to go meet back up with Douglas. Anything else? Falling… And a THUD. That was about it. She must have blacked out from her ever so perfect landing.

… But that still didn’t answer her question. How DID she get here? What else could possibly be left? Was she even in Silent Hill anymore? She didn’t recognize this place at all… There was no way a Hell hole like Silent Hill could have such a nice looking room. But, then again, she could be wrong. Not like it hadn’t surprised her before. Heather turned her head to look behind her. There was a door and it looked like it lead outside. She really shouldn’t be sitting around here like an idiot. She needed to go make sure Douglas was alright and get him to a hospital. He was in no condition to get anywhere by himself. Forcing herself up onto her feet, she stumbled a little. Her EVERYTHING was sore and she was still extremely exhausted from her experiences and lack of rest. Well, at least now it didn’t matter. She was going to go home with Douglas and maybe things would go back to normal. Fuck this place. She turned around to the door she assumed lead to the outside world. She reached and put her hand on the handle, turning it.

… Locked.

Are you fucking serious?
